Six local players drawn in category-A for BPL

The governing body of the Bangladesh Premier League announced the categories of the local 82 cricket players for the forthcoming players’ auction which will be held at a local hotel of the capital city on January 19.
They prepared a players’ list, where six players are in A category, 12 in B category and the remaining 64 are in C category.
The floor-price of category A will be US$45,000, category B- US$30,000 and category C- US$20,000
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Abdur Razzak, Mahmudullah Ryad, Junaed Siddique and Nasir Hossain have been drawn in the category A.
The BPL authority also prepared a foreign players’ list, where 17 players are in the A category, 32 in B category and the remaining 45 players will be included in C category.
The authority defined the expenditure for the teams, who can spend a maximum amount of taka three millions behind coach, staff and players.
A high official of the Sylhet franchise team disclosed that they wanted to get Pakistani veteran bowler Wasim Akram as coach for their team. They had tried to bring him in the country but he is engaged in Australia as a commentator of the ongoing series between Australia and India. He will be there till March 8 as he will also play role as a commentator for a tri-nation series among Sri Lanka, India and Australia after the ongoing series with India.
