Bangladesh Premier League: BPL 2013 T20 Live Telecast Channels, Auction Dates, Player’s Price Category & Match Venues
The BPL 2013,
Season 2 of the T20 tournament in Bangladesh will begin on Thursday, 17
January, 2013 with the opening ceremony at Mirpur Stadium. Player’s
will take the field for the first match of BPL 2013 on Friday January
18, 2013. Bangladesh Premier League
(BPL) Governing Council confirmed the BPL 2013 T20 start dates along
with franchise & players auction dates. Franchise auction for the
season 2 will held on Friday December 15, 2013 and the player’s auction
for BPL 2013 T20 season will held on Thursday, 20th December, 2012.
Three main venues named for BPL 2013 T20
tournament, located in Mirpur, Chittagong & Khulna. Sher-e-Bangla
National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will host most of the matches
including the final macth of BPL 2013. MA Aziz Stadium in the port city
of Chittagong and Sheikh Abu Nasser Stadium in Khulna will also co-host
group matches of BPL 2013. Meanwhile, Sylhet Divisional Stadium and
Shahid Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi have been selected for warm-up
matches before the start of BPL 2013 T20 tournament.

Rangpur Riders
became the latest addition to the Bangladesh Premier League, BPL T20
2013 as the entity’s rights were sold by the Bangladesh Cricket Board
(BCB) for Tk 8.5 crores ( 1.01 millon dollars) to I Sports Limited at an
auction conducted by event management company Game On Sports at the
Dhaka Club on December 15, 2012.
Besides I
Sports Limited, two other buyers took part in the BPL Season 2 Auction —
ASN Sports and Haque Brothers. ASN Sports was disqualified while Haque
Brothers lost out in the bidding to I Sports.
Rangpur’s
inclusion in BPL 2013 T20 will make it the 7th team participating in the
league. Barisal Burners, Chittagong Kings, Dhaka Gladiators, Duranta
Rajshahi, Khulna Royals Bengals and Sylhet Royals were the teams that
participated in the first edition of the competition.
BPL governing council has aslo decided not to pick any icon players for BPL 2013, Season 2.

BPL 2013 T20 Player’s Auction Categories for Bangladesh Premier League
The players taking part in the BPL 2013
player’s auction will be divided into four categories, as opposed to
the two categories in the first season of BPL. Each category will also
have a maximum bid price as follows:

Bangladesh
Premier League, BPL 2013 will be broadcasted internationally through
ESPN Star Sports who made agreements with Virgo Media to broadcast BPL
2013 T20 matches from three venues of Bangladesh. The official channel
for the BPL 2013 is Channel 9 from Virgo Media. Free Live Internet
stream will be available through RootsBD.com.
