Tamim won’t play in South Africa’s T-20 league for BPL Tamim-Iqbal-690x450

After observing a huge popularity of Indian Premier League (IPL), most of the cricket playing nations have already started their own franchise based T-20 tournaments and South Africa is the latest country in this list.

Cricket South Africa have already finalized everything of that tournament and the owners have been finalized too. CSA have fixed the name of the tournament as the Global T-20 League.

But, the schedule of that tournament will make the Bangladeshi cricketers tensed as their T-20 league which is known as Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will be started in the same time.

So, it will be difficult for the Bangladeshi cricketers to participate in that tournament. But it will be more difficult for the dashing opener of Bangladesh, Tamim Iqbal.

Tamim plays for Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Premier League (PSL) and the same owner has bought a franchise in the Global T-20 League and he has already requested Tamim to play in that.

However, it won’t be happened as the left-handed opener has decided to play in BPL instead of that and he thinks that nothing is more important than his own nation.

While talking to the Dhaka Tribune before leaving the country for England, Tamim said, “The team I play for in PSL have bought a franchise in the South Africa T20 League so it is true that I had an offer. But there is no question of me playing there bearing in mind that I will be playing BPL T20, which will take place around the same time.”
