Asif Akbar to sing the theme song of ‘Barisal Bulls’

The famous singer of Bangladesh who is famed for the song “Shabash Bangladesh”, Asif Akbar, is going to vocalize another song related to cricket. Prior to the third season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), he is appointed to sing the theme song of “Barisal Bulls”.

Asif Akbar took to his Facebook page to reveal the news through a status update. But things do not end here for Asif, he also showed his keen interest to give voice to the theme song of ‘Comilla Victorians’ after some earnest request from the general people of Comilla where he was born.

But this will not probably be so easy for the people of Comilla to fulfill their demand because the authority of Comilla Victorians have not contacted with Asif in this regard.

About the theme song of BPL, Asif said in his Facebook status, “Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is going to be started very soon. I was not related to this tournament before because of my general disliking for this format of the game. I always prefer Test cricket than any other form of cricket. But in this season’s BPL, my birthplace, Comilla is going to participate.I have received numerous requests from the people of Comilla to sing the theme song of “Comilla Victorians”. I understand their emotions. But the problem is Comilla haven’t contacted with me till now. If they need any help from me, I will be in their side. On the other hand, the authorities of “Barisal Bulls” have contacted with me even before the making of their team. Once I thought I would never sing any song of Cricket in the future but I like the aggressive approach of the people of Barisal. So, I agree to sing a theme song for them.”

Asif Akbar is known as the “Anthem singer” of Bangladesh Cricket. He won the hearts of million people in Bangladesh by singing his enormously popular number “Shabash Bangladesh”.
