Probable icon cricketers for BPL-3

The third season of Bangladesh Cricket League (BPL), that is slated to begin from November 21, will feature six franchises with each team having an icon cricketer. The names of six icon cricketers for the forthcoming league is still to be announced. But according to the reports appeared in several news media of the country, Tigers ODI and T20 captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Test captain Mushfiqur Rahim along with Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah Riyad and Nasir Hossain are expected to become the icon cricketers.

The player auction will be held on October 31 in terms of “player by choice” system. But BPL governing committee informed that the six icon cricketers will not be included in the player draft for the auction. Teams for the icon cricketers are yet to be deciden.

However, rumors going round that Bangladesh limited-overs captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza may become a part of Comilla Victorians. Besides, Shakib Al Hasan could play for Dhaka Dynamites. According to the reports, Dhaka franchise has also shown their interest on Tigers Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim. Apart from that, Tamim Iqbal, Nasir Hossain and Mahmudullah Riyad could represent Chittagong, Rangpur and Barisal franchises respectively.
