US $5 lakh is maximum price for a BPL player

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing body set a rule for the franchises of not to bid more than US$ 5 lakh for any player during the players’ auction, scheduled to be held on January 19. But they are yet to make any decision about the price of icon players as the franchises demanded to pay their icon players five percent more than only the local players instead of foreign players.
Uday Hakim, the CEO of Sylhet franchise, said that the BPL will announce their decision of the issue on January 18.
“We all six franchises demanded to give the icon players five percent more than our local players not foreign since we’ve got the limitation to spend US$ 3 million. BPL said they would give their decision on January 18.”
The BPL informed the rules and regulations of the auction during the meeting with franchises on Monday.
Meanwhile, the BPL received the availability of six more foreign players. Five of them West Indian- Carlos Barathwaite, Pedro Collins, Danza Hyatt, Andre Fletcher and Rayad Emrit and one Pakistani- Shazaib Khan. The categories of those six players will be announced soon.
