The Starting date of BPL’5 has been Changed

Due to the conflict of dates with Australia’s Big Bash League and South Africa’s Global T-20 League, the starting date of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been changed and the Governing Council (GC) of BPL has announced the new date today.



According to the old schedule, BPL would have been started on 4th November. But now, the fifth season of BPL will be started from 2nd November.

On the other hand, the inauguration ceremony was scheduled to be held on 2nd November but it will be held on 31st October.

A meeting has been held today between the members of BPL GC at the head office of Acme in Mirpur. BPL GC’s member secretary Ismail Haider Mollik has announced these new dates in-front of the media there.

He said, “We had a clash of the dates with Big Bash League and Global T-20 League. That’s why, we have decided to change the dates and hopefully it will be helpful for everyone.”

Meanwhile, it has been also learnt that Mustafiz has been selected as an Icon player for the first time and 5 overseas players will be able to play in the first XI.
