BPL 3: Number of available overseas players revealed

The draft list for the possible participants in the third season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been approved on Friday. According to the preliminary list, most number of cricketers from Pakistan have shown their interest to play in the lucrative league.

Through a report from BPL governing council, it has been learnt that approximately 52 Pakistani players have made them available for the upcoming season, to be commenced from November 21. After Pakistan, England is in the second position in terms of the number of available players as 41 players have shown their interest to play in BPL.

Besides, 36 West Indian, 25 Sri Lankan, 5 Zimbabwean, 4 Australian, 2 New Zealand cricketers along with 13 players from the associate nations have struck to the list. Apart from them, 120 local cricketers have also made to the list.

However, star players like Gayle, Sangakkara, Afridi have not been included to the list. According to the rules, franchises have to strike deal with them privately to play them on behalf of their teams in the BPL.

The player auction is scheduled to take place on October 31. But chances are there that the dates could be advanced if necessary.
