Tom Moody joins Rangpur Riders as the Head Coach Mustafizur-Rahman-IPL-tom-moody-690x448

Rangpur Riders started Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season 4 brilliantly in the last year but they lost the track in the 2nd half of the tournament.

Their journey came to an end at the group stage in the last season of BPL and ahead of the 5th season, they have already started their work to fix the team. From the very beginning of their work, they have started to surprise everyone.

Former coach of Sri Lanka and the current coach of Indian Premier League’s (IPL), Sunrisers Hyderabad, Tom Moody has joined them for the upcoming season of BPL and this is surely a huge news.

One of the representative Naimur Rahman Durjay has confirmed this news. While talking to Poriborton.com, Durjay said, “Rangpur Riders are looking forward to become the champions in next season. We have appointed Tom Moody who has huge experience and specially he is very good in franchise cricket. Hopefully everything will be alright.”

Tom Moody is a popular name in Cricket. Moreover, he has a warm relation with Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman who played for Sunrisers under his guidance.
Former opener of Bangladesh Cricket team, Javed Omar Belim was the coach of Rangpur Riders in the last season and Tom Moody is replacing him in this year.
Moody started to work as the coach of Sri Lanka in 2005 and Lankans played the 2007 World Cup under his guidance. Later in 2012, he was appointed as the coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

However, the ownership of Rangpur Riders has been changed a few days ago. Bashundhara Group bought the majority shares of the Rangpur Riders from the former owner, Sohana Group.

The 5th season of BPL will be started from 4th November and there will be two new teams in the upcoming season.
