Bangladesh Premier League franchise Comilla Victorians has announced their new venture of the season. They are going to back in action with a bowler hunt competition, announced today by the Comilla Victorians owner Ms. Nafisa Kamal in a live show in the social media. She was accompanied by Technical Director of the team former national team wicket keeper batsman Khaled Masud Pilot.

She started the session with thanking every fan of the Victorians and appreciated the innumerous reception and wishes they received over the years in and around the country. Masud expressed his high hopes to get hold of the championship once again for the Victorians.

Chairman Nafisa Kamal declared that the team’s card is on the table; she said that she always feels a special longingness for Comilla, her home district. “In this season, we have planned to start with a new concept for you all” – Nafisa Kamal said; “It is the Comilla Victorians bowler hunt campaign, started from Comilla district. The tagline is ‘fulfill your dream wearing the jersey of Comilla Victorians’” – she added.

Announcing the schedule of the campaign the Victorians owner said, “We have left the option of registration in three different venues of Comilla. The dates are 20th, 25th and 28th of September. Any potential candidate can register and gone through a bowling test under the judgment of local coaches from where 20 members will be selected from each venue. The final is supposed to take place on October 2nd where we will select 10 candidates out of that total 60.”

“These lucky 10 winners will be entirely involved with the Comilla Victorians team during the whole BPL season. Not only that they will be given opportunities to participate in the practice sessions of the team prior to the tournament as well. They can stay with the local and foreign cricketers and coaches of Comilla Victorians and share knowledge and experiences. The lucky winners will enjoy all the facilities in the camp. I think it’s a unique opportunity for them” – she added.

“I am very proud and honored to take such an initiative as it is the first ever such kind of enterprise taken by any franchise in Bangladesh. If someone can prove himself we will definitely think about including him in the team as a future plan” – Ms. Kamal uttered.

Technical Director Khaled Masud Pilot said, “We actually want to provide some opportunities to the talented ones who are deprived of exposure in that particular district. They also need to work hard to capitalize such kind of opportunity.”

Khaled Masud, meanwhile hinted about far away future plans of adding other sections of the game in such campaign such as spin bowling, batting and keeping.

While answering to the viewers questions, Khaled Masud told they have definite plans to keep Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the team although it is quite out of the franchise’s grip to hold any particular cricketer.

Upon spectator’s demand of taking Mohammad Ashraful in the team, both Nafisa Kamal and Khaled Masud expressed that if BPL Governing Body will allow Ashraful to play in this season’s tournament, they will definitely ‘go’ for him.
