Eric Simmons to coach Dhaka Dynamites

Former South African coach Eric Simmons has been contracted as the coach of Dhaka Dynamites for the third season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

As Dhaka Dynamites has aimed to snatch the championship title they are very much eager of making the best possible combination. In search of finding a competent coach, Dynamites authorities tried several options and finalized Eric Simmons.

Simmons played 23 One day International matches for South Africa national cricket team as an All-rounder in 1990s. After his retirement from cricket he took coaching as a profession and became the coach of South Africa national team in 2002.

Later he worked as a bowling consultant of Indian cricket team for two years. He is also the current head coach of Delhi Daredevils in Indian Premier League.

The owner of Dhaka Dynamites Wabayed Nizam has confirmed the addition of Eric as the head coach in their team. He said “We wanted to get Jacob Oram but couldn’t catch to him. Now we are going for Eric Simons.”

Besides Dhaka Dynamites has managed to confirm Pakistani paceman Mohammad Irfan for their team. Dutch professional cricketer Ryan ten Doeschate and Pakistani cricketer Nasir Jamshed will also play for Dhaka along with Kumar Sangakkara.
