BPL yet to get confirmation from Warne Shane-warne

Around 16 players have signed-up for their pre-auction agreement to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Saturday. Of them, Prasanna Jawardena from Sri Lanka, Saqlain Mushtaq from Pakistan, Elton Chigumbura, Fredy Chighumbra, Hamilton Masakadza from Zimbabwe applied for the B category and the remaining 11 players- Hamish Marshall from New Zealand, Lance Klusener from South Africa, Sarfaraj Ali from Pakistan, Collins Obuya from Kenya, John Mayburgh, Michael Stuart, Ryan Campbel, Tim Philis, Graham Wag, Nizakat Khan and Chris Schofield from England applied for the C category. The BPL governing body however is yet to get the confirmation of Australian spin legend Shane Warne. The authority however has been in discussion with him. A total of 160 foreign players across the cricket playing nations through their agents sent their confirmation to play the flagship event, ever first in Bangladesh.
The hype of the Bangladesh Premier League formally begins after the franchised team auction in Westin on January 10, say the BPL organisers.

The base price of the foreign players has been finalised but it will not be defined for the local players. In the board meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, the base price for the local players along with other issues of the BPL were due to be settled on Saturday. Till filing of this report, the meeting was going on.
